    Description

The Highland Camping Pod is a fantastic glamping pod situated on the side of a lake with its own private, wood-fired hot tub. Guests can also benefit from free entry to the farm park and a discount at the on-site farm shop which stocks local produce. It's the perfect getaway for families and couples.

The luxury glamping pod provides a bright and comfortable accommodation with two bedrooms and open-plan kitchen/dining/living space. There's a private shower room inside the pod. The master bedroom has a double bed whilst the second bedroom has two singles. There is a double sofabed in the living room.

Guests will love sitting in the hot tub and soaking up the lake and countryside views whilst the BBQ is perfect for cooking on in the warm summer evenings.

The on-site farm park means kids and adults alike can enjoy meeting the alpacas, lambs, pigs and other farm animals. Free entry is provided to guests staying at the pod. Up to two well-behaved pets are welcome.

The Highland Camping Pod is set in the quiet oasis of the farm but is handily only a few minutes’ drive from the centre of Hertford and the A10, which means easy access to the local shops and pubs. There's a number of things for guests to do in and around Hertford such as a trip to Hertford Castle where the grounds and gardens are open to the public and ideal for a picnic. There are plenty of walking trails nearby such as the Chadwell Way Sculpture Trail which follows a five mile route through the towns and countryside of Hertford, Ware and Great Amwell, in Hertfordshire.

Hard to think of one - maybe a bit of development of the field walkway to Hertford heath as pretty mucky in winter.

We had An amazing holiday at this farm. The location is amazing, the views beautiful and the animals made our stay. The pod has (most) of the things you would need and the children loved the hot tub. We couldn't fault the location and if we had received a better service from the owners we would have returned many times and recommended to our friends. The bread, milk and afternoon tea were a lovely touch on arrival it was just a shame I was made to wait half an hour in the farm shop before being checked in by the owner.

Unfortunatly we did not receive the warmest of welcomes. There was no checking in with us after our initial check in which I feel is important when staying in a place like this. When we arrived the hot tub was freezing cold and dirty. Not wanting to disappoint our children, we then spent most of the evenong filling it up with wood so the children could get in. In the morning when we reported to the owner that the tub was dirty and asked for it to be refilled the owner was very frosty and her husband then came up to empty the tub, completely ignored us and shouted at my dog. We were never contacted / spoken to again by the owner despite her walking past our pod.
I also find it poor that we were expected to remove all of our own sheets from the beds at the end of our stay. This is not a cheap camping holiday and if I had stayed in a hotel room costing 285pounds a night I certainly would not expect to do this.
    Other points of improvement:
The log store was never filled up the whole time we were there and there was certainly not enough logs to keep the hot tub going over three days.
A meagre amount of soap and dishwater was provided(again I feel that for the price a more generous amount should have been provided).
The pod would have benefited from a small hoover - a farm is dirty and messy and a small brush is not adequate even when shoes are being left outside.
For me the customer service let's this accommodation down. There was zero warmth (aside from the lovely animals).

Beautiful location and the hot tub was a real boon! Hosts had it ready for our arrival as it takes a couple of hours to heat. Hosts were really friendly - we couldn't get the oven to turn on so they came out and did it for us! We also got a lot of unexpected stuff, bread, milk, scones, fruit. Really generous!

The Herdwick Safari Tent is an incredible glamping experience set on the edge of a lake on a private farm and with its own private hot tub. The owners provide a warm welcome and guests can also benefit from free entry to the farm park and a discount at the on-site farm shop which stocks local produce. The safari tent offers a luxurious glamping experience with an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area. Inside, there is a private bathroom featuring a beautiful roll-top, free-standing bath. It includes a double bedroom and a second double bed located in the elevated section of the living room, which may not be ideal for individuals with limited mobility. Additionally, two single pull-out futons can be provided for children, accommodating up to six guests in total. Guests will love sitting in the hot tub and soaking up the lake and countryside views whilst the BBQ is perfect for cooking on in the warm summer evenings. The on-site farm park means kids and adults alike can enjoy meeting the alpacas, lambs, pigs and other farm animals. The Herdwick Safari Tent is set in the quiet oasis of the farm but is handily only a few minutes’ drive from the centre of Hertford and the A10, which means easy access to the local shops and pubs.
